Have less than $5,000 in liquid resources (i.e., savings/checking account)?
Have a monthly income that does not exceed:

If so, you may qualify for two months of Emergency Food Stamps

This benefit will allow you to purchase groceries for your family, as well as hot, ready-to-eat food. The average benefit is $93 per-month!

    why people from katrina was able to get $800.00 and more in food stamps and the people from texas can not get more than $100.00?

    MAYBE BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE FROM KATRINA. THEY PROBALLY FELT SO BAD FOR LEAVING THOSE PEOPLE STRANDED FOR SO LONG WITH NO HELP, WITH ALL OF THE DEATHS AND ALL. WHO KNOW WHAT OUR GOVERMENT DOES WHAT THEY DO.

    My daughter and I lost everything due to hurricain Ike. We are among the lucky ones that have friends and family to stay with temporarely. May God bless everyone who is currently going thru this tradgedy.
