The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas has prepared emergency supplies, truckloads of food and staff for deployment to areas in need of emergency food assistance due to Hurricane Gustav. The Food Bank also plans to deploy the “Wheels of Sharing” Mobile Food Pantry as needed.
(Formerly America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network), and CAFB is waiting for word to deploy food and supplies to areas expected to receive evacuees.
“We need community support to help cover the costs of our disaster relief commitment and to help manage any food drives needed,” said David Davenport, CAFB President & CEO. “For now, we ask for support through online donations at http://www.austinfoodbank.org. That is the best, most efficient help we can get.”
