Double the love in February.

Show your love for the Food Bank this month by celebrating Matching Gift Month. Established by HEP Development’s Matching Gift Advisory Council (MGAC), this month recognizes our corporate partners for the difference their matching gift programs make.
Our corporate partners support us in many ways. They hold Food and Fund Drives, sponsor special events and allow us to “borrow” employees for a few hours or a day so they can volunteer. They also offer matching gift opportunities to their employees and retirees.
You might be surprised to know they match funds in a variety of ways. We recently received generous donations from companies like Applied Materials and Macy’s, who matched the funds raised during their employees’ Food and Fund Drives.
We appreciate the help from our 13,500 volunteers annually, so we’re excited to see an increase in the number of programs matching dollars for employees’ volunteer time. Companies like AMD, Cisco, Dell, Gap and Intel offer $10 – $15 per hour volunteered.
For the last two years, we’ve partnered with the Regal Foundation to hold a matching gift challenge during Hunger Action Month in September. Last year, we met our goal in less than 24 hours!
Thank you, corporate partners, for recognizing your employees’ contributions of time, talent and treasure, and for increasing your support with matching gifts.
Curious to see if your gifts or volunteer time can be matched? Check out our matching gift list here, or contact your Human Resources or Community Relations department to learn more.
