Hunger Action Month: A Movement for Empathy and Action

September 1, 2010 § Leave a comment

While any time is a good time to educate the public on the difficulties our neighbors face on limited and low incomes, Hunger Action Month is a special time to concentrate this effort nationwide.  In partnership with Feeding America, we, and hundreds of food banks across the nation are encouraging our community groups, civic leaders, and business community to end hunger. Each day this month, we’ll blog about a “Way of the Day” to help you participate with the rest of the nation. Just think – you’ll be part of a concentrated 30-day long force of truth, empathy and action right here in Central Texas.

Start this month learning, sharing and bringing much-needed action to the hunger crisis at home.  Get started by visiting our website at http://www.austinfoodbank.org/hungeraction/ where you can see a calendar and pledge to take action.  Send us photos of how you’re taking action this month, or post it to our Hunger Action Month Flickr group.

See you tomorrow.
