Hunger Action Month Way of the Day: Collect Donations Instead of Gifts

September 2, 2010 § Leave a comment

September is chock-full of celebration days. For instance, did you know about Cheese Pizza Day on the 5th, Chocolate Milk Shake Day on the 12th , National Cheeseburger Day on the 18th and  National Punch Day (assuming this is the drink, not the assault) on the 20th? What better way to get friends and family together by celebrating these food treasures, and by collecting donations for the Food Bank.  Or, celebrate your anniversary or birthday by asking for Food Bank donations in lieu of gifts. You can even do it online with our Virtual Food Drive. Click here to get started.

Enjoy your celebrations!

TAKE A TOUR: CAFB is hosting an open house on Monday, September 13.  Learn how we distribute millions of pounds of nutritious food to hungry Central Texans with a behind the scenes look at our warehouse and Teaching Garden.  It’s free!  Email Emily Babb, Donor Relations Manager, at ebabb[at]austinfoodbank.org to sign up.
