Hunger Action Month Way of the Day: Let Your Faith Lead You.

September 5, 2010 § Leave a comment

All faiths can get involved in the Capital Area Food Bank’s mission to nourish hungry Central Texans and lead the community in ending hunger.

Invite CAFB to speak at your event or celebration. We would love to share the Central Texas hunger story at your holiday celebration or regular meetings.

Volunteer with your organization. We have a variety of opportunities for large and small groups, and for all ages.

Take the Grow & Give pledge and donate a portion of your harvest to the Food Bank.

Become a Partner Agency. Even with 350 partnering agencies across 21 central Texas counties, we need to grow our partnerships to ensure all of our neighbors in need have access to food. Learn how you can provide direct food assistance to your community.

Raise awareness about hunger issues by integrating it into your services and conversations. Your organization’s members can be a powerful force for change and advocacy.  Visit hungerisunacceptable.com to get the facts and watch videos about hunger in central Texas.

Take a tour. CAFB is hosting an open house on Monday, September 13.  Learn how we distribute millions of pounds of nutritious food to hungry Central Texans with a behind the scenes look at our warehouse and Teaching Garden.  It’s free!  Email Emily Babb, Donor Relations Manager, at ebabb[at]austinfoodbank.org to sign up.
