Volunteers Needed for Fall Planting Day

September 14, 2010 § Leave a comment

We had a great summer, thanks to the many volunteers who helped care for our Teaching Garden. The CAFB Teaching Garden grows a variety of vegetables and herbs, and distributes the produce to our Partner Agencies and Nutrition Education program.  The mission of the Teaching Garden is to teach our Partner Agencies how to grow their own food, and for them to teach their clients to grow their own food so that more people have access to fresh produce.

Look at our basil harvest in this video.

We would love to have your support once again in preparation for our fall harvest. Novice and expert gardeners are invited to volunteer at our fall planting day. We need assistance harvesting, clearing and reseeding our 19 vegetable garden beds.

When: Saturday, September 18, 10:00 a.m. – noon

To sign up, visit the volunteer registration page.

Children ages 8 and up are welcome to volunteer in the Teaching Garden.
